Victorian Bushfire Disaster Clubs Appeal

Following the horrific Victorian Bushfire Disaster earlier this year, local not for profit community clubs proved their generosity once again by supporting the national Victorian Bushfire Disaster Clubs Appeal and raising over $4 million! Their funds were donated direct to the Australian Red Cross and will assist in rebuilding the communities and people devastated through this tragedy.

Australian Taxation Office tips for claiming donations to emergency relief funds
People who give ‘bucket donations’ can claim a tax deduction equal to their contribution up to $10 in their 2008-09 tax return without the usual need to keep a receipt.
Many people will use the web or phone to make a donation over $10, so their web receipt or credit card statement will be enough. Others are provided with a receipt for their contributions.
This also applies to donations collected through third parties such as banks and retail outlets.
