Royal Perth Yacht Club has been announced winner of the Clubs WA Large Club of the Year, and Lesmurdie Club the Small/Medium Club of the Year at the 2009 Clubs WA Awards for Excellence held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on Sunday night.
The awards night celebrated the achievements of clubs throughout the state who have excelled in various areas including club management and community service.
Clubs WA Executive Director, Mr Peter Seaman, congratulated both clubs on their prestigious win.
“These awards have been designed to showcase those clubs that have excelled over the past year and we heartily congratulate both Royal Perth Yacht Club and Lesmurdie Club for their deserved wins,” Mr Seaman said.
The Clubs WA Awards for Excellence, now in its third year, was announced at a gala dinner at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on Sunday night with over 370 in attendance, hosted by media personality, Mr. Adrian Barich and entertainment from Silva Dee and Lady Penelope.
Special guests included the Honorable Terry Waldron MLA, Minister for Sport & Recreation; Racing & Gaming; Minister Assisting Minister for Health and Member for Forrestfield, Mr Andrew Waddell representing the Leader of the Opposition.
