Clubs WA is part of the national body ClubsAustralia that is represented in each state by individual state governing bodies. Together we represent 4,000 RSL, football, bowling, golf, ethnic, community, workers', sport and recreation clubs.
There are around ten million club memberships in Australia showing that millions of Australians find value in their local clubs.
Clubs are unique, not-for-profit institutions which have become the fabric of communities, with members of all ages interacting in safe, family friendly environments.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics found in 2004/2005 that clubs employed 65,000 people and were supported by 65,000 volunteers.
Clubs provide members with affordable meals, in restaurants, bistros and lounge rooms, drinks and entertainment such as snooker, bingo games and live music.
Many clubs are venues for weddings, meeting places for community, charity and sporting groups and are regularly used as staging points or accommodation for emergency services during natural disasters such as bushfires and floods.
