10 Jul 2008
On Thursday the 10th of July, interviews for The Kokoda Youth Leadership Clubs Challenge were held at The Celtic Club, West Perth. Our selection panel included State President of the RSL Mr William Gaynor, Minister Ljilanna Ravlich’s Senior Policy Advisor Daron Smith, and President of Clubs WA Wally Maker.
Clubs WA is very pleased to announce the successful candidate this year is 17-year-old Miss Phoebe Tucker from Capel. Phoebe is a member of The Australian Army Reserves, and represented WA at the 2007 Pony Club Australian National Championships. Phoebe has a connection to the Kokoda Track, with two of her great Uncle’s serving in New Guinea during the war. She would like to tread in her family’s footsteps by Walking In The Footprints Of Hero’s!
Clubs WA would like to thank all the candidates who applied to walk the Kokoda Track, and encourage you to try again in 2009.
