Metropolitan & Regional Club of the Year announced!

Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club has been announced winner of the Clubs WA Metropolitan Club of the Year, and Pinjarra Golf Club the Regional Club of the Year at the 2008 Clubs WA Awards for Excellence held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on Sunday night. 

The awards night celebrated the achievements of clubs throughout the state who have excelled in various areas including club management and community service. 

Clubs WA Executive Director, Mr Peter Seaman, congratulated both clubs on their prestigious win. “These awards have been designed to showcase those clubs that have excelled over the past year and we heartily congratulate both Marmion Angling and Aquatic and Pinjarra Golf Club for their deserved wins,” Mr Seaman said. 

The Clubs WA Awards for Excellence, now in its second year, was announced at a gala dinner at the Burswood Entertainment Complex last night with over 300 in attendance, hosted by media personality, Mr Tim Gossage and entertainment from Australian Idol contestant, Chris Murphy and the Chris Murphy Band. 

Special guests included the Honourable Ljiljanna Ravlich MLC, Minister for Racing, Gaming and Liquor and Shadow Minister for Racing, Gaming and Liquor, Mr John McGrath.
