Clubs WA is considering offering workshops to your members on the use of mobile phones, the internet and email. The workshops are part of the Telstra Connected Seniors Grants on offer in WA, and Clubs WA is investigating the feasibility of applying for these grants on behalf of all clubs. These series of workshops will be directed at seniors however they are open to anyone who is struggling to keep up with technology and improve your connectivity with loved ones. These workshops can be tailored to suit the needs of the group and are intended to be hands-on. You will be taught the basics to more advanced functions on mobile phones and computers. By offering workshops to the seniors of our community we are helping them to:
- Knowing how to use a mobile phone and encouraging all seniors to carry mobile phones in case of emergencies.
- Staying connected to family members by communication using text messaging (SMS) or email.
- Using technology to assist with everyday tasks such as online banking, paying bills or booking flights/accommodation/holidays.
- Organising meetings at your local golf or bowling club using inexpensive options such as text messaging or free email messages.
