Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol - Abridged (Participation only)
Although you can still work behind a bar, please note the Abridged version of Responsible Service of Alcohol Course will no longer be recognised as an approved course for the purpose of applying for a Restricted Approved Manager ID card.
Whilst the Director General from the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor states ‘pursuant to section 103A of the Liquor Control Act, all servers of liquor on licensed premises will be required as a minimum to complete the nationally accredited unit of competency in the responsible service of alcohol’ persons who have already received their "Abridged" or "Participation" level RSA certificates prior to 1st May 2011 may continue to work behind a bar. Noting that they may not apply for a Restricted Approved Manager ID card nor act in the capacity of Temporary Approved Manager.
