A new government initiative which provides workplace support and practical answers for small business owners.
Clubs WA is pleased to announce the Platinum Partnership of West Coast Small Business Training Institute’s Small Business Solutions (R).
Small business is at the very heart of life and commerce in Western Australia, and employs more than half the State's private sector workers.
Small business owners and operators are people who build their own future by doing it their way, by creating success and making a huge contribution to Western Australia's economy.
But, as many will tell you, it's sometimes hard to stay on top of things and meet the challenges of business.
That's where Small Business Solutions (R) comes in. Small Business Solutions (R) is an exciting new government initiatives that enables small business owners to access personalised one-to-one business mentoring in the workplace, from experience small business professionals with business mentoring qualifications.
It recognises the skills small business owners already have, identifies any gaps and gives support on how to drive solutions that will improve their skills and business.
This initiative has been developed by the Department of Education and Training following a recommendation by the State Training Board's Small Business Advisory Committee and is proudly hosted by West Coast TAFE, Joondalup.
The Small Business Solutions (R) product is a direct result of consultation and research with small business owners. We have listened to what you want, when you want it, and have tailored this solution to your small business.
Small Business Solutions (R) is all about finding solutions to problems for owners and operators, providing strategic support to identify areas for improvement and offering practical advice based on experience.
The key to achieving this is the on-site and on-going involvement of Business Skills Mentors. Mentors will meet with owners in their workplace weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as required, forming an on-going partnership and effectively becoming their trusted resource in business.
The Government subsidised and highly affordable rate is $350 for three hours or one-on-one Business Mentoring of $1,200 for twelve hours over an ongoing period to suit the business.
Business Skills Mentors provide support in the workplace by listening to owners, understanding their situations, and by offering practical down-to-earth solutions for better workplace outcomes.
The Mentor will conduct a business ‘health check’ which will assist in diagnosing how well your business is performing and will provide assistance with strategies to take the organsiation to the next level.
Owners will have the opportunity to participate in flexible training opportunities and in tailored group workshops, and have access to relevant information to support their business. Mentors will conduct Recognition of Prior Learning assessments to ascertain if participants, based on their working experience, are entitled to qualifications that will add value to their business.
All Mentors possess extensive experience in personally managing and owning a successful small business, so they will intimately understand the issues and can directly relate to owners from hospitality and retail to trades and professional services, transportation and service manufacturing.
All Mentors are qualified business coaches and are also accredited with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
