Cowaramup District Social Club (CDSC), located in the South West town of Cowaramup, is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Cook to lead its kitchen team. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary between $65,000 and $75,000 per year, with access to leave entitlements and potential for performance-based bonuses. This role plays a central part in delivering high-quality meals and contributing to the success of a well-regarded local venue.

The Role

  • Work with the Club Manager to create themed food nights and member specials

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals with attention to taste and presentation

  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards

  • Oversee kitchen organisation and efficient prep work

  • Manage kitchen inventory and ordering

  • Mentor and lead junior kitchen staff

  • Develop catering menus for private events

  • Manage food costing, budgeting, and resource efficiency

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role

  • Hold a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and a valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of kitchen operations and cooking techniques

  • Have experience in food costing and inventory control

  • Work well under pressure while maintaining high standards
