The nature of licensed clubs is unique. Most registered clubs are community-owned and hugely dependent on volunteers who make a significant contribution. The introduction of new Work Health and Safety Act and Work Health and Safety Regulations for Western Australia sets out new health and safety duties to provide protections from hazards and risks in the workplace for volunteers.

Presenter: Stephen Lewis
Professional Experience
As with all farmers Stephen began working on the family farm at an early age. Stephen attended an Agricultural College and University to attain an Associate Diploma. As part of the rural community, Stephen volunteered at the local St John’s Ambulance providing a service to road traffic and farming accidents.
Stephen attended Curtin University and completed a Bachelor of Science. During this time, he worked in each of the major hospitals in Perth. His main experiences were Accident and Emergency, Anaesthetics and Recovery.
Stephen developed an interest in safety and completed postgraduate work at Curtin University. Now he has over 17 years of experience in providing safety and health services and solutions to organisations both large and small, across Australia.
