Fremantle Sailing Club (FSC) is a vibrant community hub and one of Western Australia’s premier sailing destinations. Located on Fremantle’s stunning coastline, FSC has a proud history spanning over 90 years. FSC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join its finance team. This role supports the club’s financial operations, compliance, and strategic planning.
The Role

Prepare accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts

Process membership fees across various tiers

Respond to member account and over-the-counter enquiries

Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
-
Ensure compliance with BAS, GST, PAYG, FBT, and audit requirements

Collaborate with department heads on budget monitoring

Identify process improvements and cost efficiencies

Assist with grant applications and reporting

Support the annual audit process and maintain internal controls
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Hold at least a Bachelor of Accounting

Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in accounting (preferably in hospitality, sports clubs, or non-profits)

Be proficient in accounting software such as Xero or MYOB, and Excel
-
Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Have knowledge of compliance standards and legislative requirements

Show a high level of relationship management skills
