The Swan Yacht Club is looking for a new Bar Manager to join the team. Located on the banks of the Swan River in East Fremantle, the Yacht Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Manager to expand their career in a unique riverfront location. Reporting to senior management, you will support, motivate and train the team to deliver exceptional service to our members, guests and functions. You will work with management to assist in the success of day-to-day operations and provide exceptional service during the duration of our many weddings and events at the club.
The Role
We are calling for a passionate and experienced Bar Manager ready to join a bustling club environment. This person will be overseeing multiple bars in company with a second team member, both equally responsible for leading and developing a large team.
This role will suit a passionate and experienced beverage driven professional, who truly understands what being hands-on means! This is a rolling roster which equates to 50 per fortnight.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be leading from the front and setting standards high, managing each bar, ensuring a smooth operation of all moving parts across the members-based venue.
The Venue
This venue is located on the banks of the Swan River and is home to over 3,000 members – with a strong focus on recreational pursuits throughout the days and nights. The venue encompasses a newly-renovated main members bar, upstairs function facility, river deck bar, members’ restaurant and seasonal Pop-Up bars.
Your focus will be around:
• Stock control, variances, beverage COGS at target %
• Compliance with licensing and stocktakes
• Developing, teaching, and coaching the bar team around skills and product knowledge
• Service standards, team culture, client, and member relationships
• Ongoing maintenance of all beverage offerings and their delivery in venue
• Delivery of on-trend, relevant and seasonal offerings
• Finding growth opportunities, activation, and delivery
• Bar maintenance, cleanliness, organisation, and presentation
Our club is fast-paced, so as a Bar Manager, you will need to be experienced in high volume and not be afraid to drive people when the pressure is on. To really succeed in this role, you will have:
• Exposure to managing large teams in multiple high-volume bars
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar position
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Commercial and operational awareness
• Experience driving high standards through people
• Previous ownership around recruitment, training, and development of team
• Strong focus on delivering high standards and exceptional product
• Accountability for aspects of your venue’s P&L
• Business and operational acumen
