ABOUT US
Located at Woodman Point, Cockburn Power Boats Club (CPBC) is a not-for-profit association with approximately 1200 members. Established in 1961 with a proud history, the Club provides all the facilities and conveniences Members require to make their boating experience a safe and enjoyable one.
CPBC boasts 5 floating launching and retrieval ramps, 8 boat wash down bays, 50 water pens, hardstand storage, fish cleaning station, secure parking, and function facilities overlooking the stunning Cockburn Sound for its Members.
The core objective of the Club is to promote and encourage the use of recreational watercraft powered by sail or engine.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Commodore and Management Committee, the General Manager is responsible for the administration and functionality of CPBC while achieving its goals and objectives.
With a team of 5 permanent employees and a handful of casual function staff the General Manager is accountable for overseeing a broad range of responsibilities including but not limited to,
- Upholding the CPBC Constitution, Policies and Rules and to educate Members and Employees to ensure compliance.
- Proactively develop and implement strategies to engage and retain current Members and attract new ones to the Club.
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Club including administration, financial management, risk mitigation, people management, marketing and communications, facilities management, and functions coordination.
- Ensuring the Club’s systems and technology are automated, efficient, compliant, relevant, and up to date.
- Fostering a professional and positive workplace culture that values Members and aligns to the CPBC Charter.
- Ensuring all business, compliance, insurance, and legislative requirements are met.
- Conducting all duties with professionalism and integrity to ensure the confidence of all stakeholders, including the regular and timely reporting to the Management Committee on all relevant matters.
