South of Perth Yacht Club, located in Applecross, is seeking a reliable and motivated Bosun / Maintenance Officer to join its team. This hands-on role is crucial to maintaining the Club’s boats and facilities to a high standard of safety and presentation. The role offers a diverse and practical working environment set in a beautiful waterfront location.
The Role

Perform general maintenance across buildings, grounds, jetties, and boating assets

Carry out basic trade tasks such as carpentry, painting, and light fabrication

Operate machinery including forklifts and pressure washers
-
Assist with boat lifting and vessel handling (training provided)

Support cleaning, groundskeeping, and workshop operations

Liaise with suppliers and support trades when needed
-
Provide responsive and courteous service to members and staff
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Hold a current Driver’s Licence

Hold a current Forklift Licence

Hold a Recreational Skipper’s Ticket (RST)

Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance skills

Communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff

Show a proactive work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude

Be reliable, responsible, and willing to learn

Desirable: Experience in general maintenance, marine, or trades-related roles
