The University Club of Western Australia is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Conference and Events Coordinator to join our professional team. Located on the banks of the Swan River on the heritage-listed grounds of The University of Western Australia, the Club’s facilities include a Casual Dining Café, Fine Dining Restaurant and 12 private function rooms.

THE ROLE

  • Sale of the Club’s twelve state-of-the-art conference and dining venues,
  • Client liaison and site inspections,
  • Identification of client needs and recommendations to ensure the best possible delivery of events,
  • Preparation of written quotations, contracts, banquet event orders and associated administration,
  • Coordination of high profile academic, corporate and government events,
  • Coordination of weddings, anniversaries and birthday celebrations,
  • Maintaining and nurturing client relationships,
  • Raising client invoices and following up post-event,
  • Proactively securing new and repeat business.

THE APPLICANT

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 12 months experience in event coordination in a hotel or conference centre environment, together with a comprehensive understanding of banquet operations. The following attributes are also essential:

  • Exceptional time management skills to balance tight deadlines,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Impeccable attention to detail,
  • Strong negotiation skills,
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure,
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver results,
  • Ability to reach sales targets,
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher,
  • Immaculate personal presentation.
