The Cruising Yacht Club, located at Rockingham Beach, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join its food and beverage team. Facilities include the Galley Restaurant and Bar, Burgee Function Room, and hardstand amenities.

The Role

  • Lead the kitchen operations across restaurant and function services

  • Design and deliver creative, seasonal menus

  • Maintain high standards in food quality, safety, and presentation

  • Oversee stock control, cost management, and kitchen rostering

  • Collaborate with a supportive, close-knit team

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef

  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and the ability to engage with members

  • Be capable of managing a compact kitchen with efficiency

  • Exhibit creativity and innovation in menu development

  • Show strong leadership and communication skills

  • Understand cost control, stock management, and safety procedures

  • Be hands-on in all aspects of kitchen operations

Additional Info

  • Full-time role with a generous salary package ($90,000–$100,000 per year) plus super

  • 5-day work week with kitchen operating from Wednesday

  • No late finishes – kitchen closes at 8pm
