Mangles Bay Fishing Club (MBFC) is a non-profit, member-based club located in Rockingham, with approximately 800 members. Established in 1973, the Club is managed largely by volunteers and is focused on providing safe and enjoyable boating and fishing experiences. Facilities include two jetties, three ramps, boat wash bays, 120 hardstand bays, a fish cleaning station, secure parking, and a clubhouse with scenic views over Cockburn Sound. Governed by a Management Committee and guided by a strategic plan, the Club is committed to sustainability, safety, and fellowship.
The Role
Reporting to the Club President and Management Committee, the Club Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic implementation across MBFC. Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance

Managing maintenance of Club facilities and assets

Supporting long-term infrastructure planning

Developing social activities for members
-
Overseeing bar operations and liquor licensing compliance

Leading and developing a small team
-
Supporting financial management and sustainability
-
Managing occupational health, safety, and environmental practices
-
Building relationships with sponsors and stakeholders
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Have 3–5 years of operational management experience in a relevant sector

Demonstrate strong communication and people management skills
-
Show a proven ability to work with committees and member-based organisations
-
Possess sound business and financial acumen
-
Bring a practical and proactive approach to Club operations
-
Experience in non-profit, facilities, or project management is advantageous
-
Knowledge of boating and fishing is desirable but not essential
Additional Info
This is a permanent part-time role, up to 30 hours per week, with working hours focused on peak Club activity times such as Friday and Sunday evenings, and during functions or competitions. A competitive remuneration package will be offered based on experience and qualifications.
