Our Clubs WA Industry Awards for Excellence recognise the outstanding individual and collective achievements of Western Australia community clubs and reward best practice across the sector. Due to COVID-19, our awards gala will now be held on Saturday 10th July 2021, celebrating clubs and achievements from January 2019 to December 2020.
It has been a difficult year for the club industry. Participating in the 2020/21 awards program provides your club the ability to thank and recognise all your team and members who supported your club during this trying time. With the unique circumstances that have occurred throughout this year, Clubs WA looks forward to bringing our clubs together next year for what is set to be our biggest celebration yet – we hope you can join us to help commemorate the importance of our industry in times of need.

Amateur Sports Award
Recognising an amateur sportsperson or team that prides themselves on contributing to the development of the club and the community. Candidates must have represented your club in a sporting capacity between January 2019 and December 2020 .

Best Club Event – Small, Medium, Large*
We are on the search to find WA’s Best Club Event, whether this be for the wider community or exclusively for your club members. This category requires testimonials and a video submission.

Best Club Industry Supplier
Nominate your favourite supplier (or their representative) for this award. Fill in a short application form letting us know why your nominee deserves this recognition.

Function Facility of the Year – Small, Medium, Large*
Nominate your club function rooms to be deemed WA’s Best Function Facility. Submissions will be judged on the range of function services offered by the club and the level of benefit functions provide to the club.

Club Development Award
Recognising clubs who are continuously making improvements to their club facilities and services for the benefit of their members. Nominating clubs must have made changes to their clubhouse and their services between January 2019 and December 2020.

This award celebrates the vital role that WA clubs play in the tourism industry and recognises the unique methods that clubs use to attract tourism.

Community Impact Award – Small, Medium, Large*
Our Community Impact Award recognises the club which has implemented the most significant project with long-term benefits to the wider community. The project must have impacted or raised awareness for physical or mental health, environmental issues, or social issues.

Long-Term Service Award (Employee)
Recognising a club employee who has consistently demonstrated excellence and commitment between January 2019 and December 2020. Candidates will have been working for your club for over five years and gone above and beyond their expected duties to further the success of your club.

Rising Star Award
Nominate an employee who has been with your club for a period up to and including five years, and who has shown outstanding potential and commitment to your club.

Future Direction Award
This award recognises the clubs who are future proofing their clubs by attracting a younger and more diverse group of members through innovative methods. Nominating clubs should also have high retention rates due to the benefits provided to their members.

Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering
Recognising the significant role that volunteers play in our club community. All nominees are celebrated on stage with a certificate. Volunteers must have been volunteering for your club for at least ten years.

Club of the Year – Small, Medium, Large*
This prestigious award celebrates clubs who excelled during 2019. Clubs will need to demonstrate strong performance across their club programs, administration, training and development, governance, and management.

Clubs WA Achievement Award
This award aims to recognise a club that made significant changes or achievements during 2019, for the betterment of their club. Nominees from all categories will be automatically considered for this award.
Road Safety Award (STRIVE Program) – Small, Medium, Large*
This award, for clubs and associations with a liquor licence, encourages the promotion of Road Safety as part of Clubs WA’s STRIVE Program. There are three awards up for grabs each accompanied by $1,500: one for small clubs, one for medium clubs, and one for large clubs. Additionally, the first three clubs from each category (small, medium and large) to reach level four of the program will each qualify for a $500 grant. Each club to reach level four of the program, goes in the running to win the Road Safety Award for their respective category (small, medium or large).

STRIVE Program
The Strive Program is an easy to follow tiered system with four levels that encourages safety for its members by providing a checklist for clubs and associations to follow. Each level come with certificates and recognition once completed, and the first three clubs of each size to complete the final level (four) will win a cash prize. Club Size
*Small, medium, large categories are based on the annual turnover of clubs as listed below:
Small: Annual turnover of less than $500,000
Medium: Annual turnover from $500,000 to $1,000,000
Large: Annual turnover more than $1,000,000
Please note: it is at the discretion of Clubs WA to separate the categories based on size and require a minimum number of nominations in each size to do so. Clubs WA reserves the right to combine award categories.
